    Available Alloys

Due to the harsh conditions of Marine applications, and the variety of hoisting, rigging and mooring uses, our Marine and Rigging products are available in various alloys.

Our Marine Rigging Wire Ropes are available in 302/304 or 316 Stainless Steel, depending on the need for corrosion resistance.

Our Mooring Cables, or Oceanographic Cables, are Galvanized Wire Ropes with plastic coating, which help protect the base cable from salt water intrusion. This allows for use in applications that face harsher weather conditions.

    Applications

These two products are manufactured for different applications.

Mooring Cables are often used as buoy moorings to promote safety on the water, or for maintaining the position of underwater data collection devices.

Marine Rigging Wire Ropes are more commonly used in ship mooring, or towing and anchoring applications, either securing ships to docks and vessels or to other ships to be towed.
